Audiovestibular medicine

Audiovestibular medicine focuses on improving the quality of life of people of all ages who have hearing and balance disorders. This is achieved through the investigation, diagnosis and management of disorders such as hearing loss, tinnitus, hyperacusis, dizziness and vertigo.

It is a different medical specialty to audiology and ENT, although there is some overlap.

Specialist audiovestibular physicians offer

  • Aetiological investigations for hearing loss
  • Otoacoustic emission assessment
  • BPPV treatment / Epley manoeuvre
  • Diagnostics for hearing loss
  • Earwax syringing in children (Bionix)
  • Spatial auditory information and speech-in-noise assessment (LiSN-S)

You can use your private medical insurance or pay for your Audiovestibular medicine treatment. We offer competitive, fixed price packages as well as the ability to spread your cost with the option of 0% finance. If you are using your health insurance, please contact your insurer first for approval and let them know you’d like to be treated at One Hatfield Hospital.
