The Children and Young Person's Suite
The Children and Young Person's Unit has a dedicated suite separate to our adult ward for our young surgical patients.
On arrival our paediatric nurse will take you to the suite where you may meet other members of the team and see your room. All families will be cared for in private bedrooms.
On the day of the surgery, your room will be equipped appropriately for your child with toys. Each room has a television and free Wi-Fi. We have a range of toys to play with including books, a portable DVD player, computer games and activities. In addition, your child will be encouraged to bring in their own toys and comforters.
While in hospital, your child will be given a child friendly menu from which they can order their choice of food following their surgery. We also have a menu choice for adults. Specialist menus are available if required, for example, vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free.
