Mr Ashish Kiran Shrestha

Professional Profile

Mr Ashish Shrestha qualified from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in 2000. Mr Shrestha completed his basic surgical training from Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, Dumfries, Scotland. Mr Shrestha completed his Masters degree in Surgical Sciences with Merit from Imperial College London with research project and dissertation on Liver Metastasis from Colorectal cancers. Mr Shrestha is currently working as Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust since 2017 and is the lead for Emergency Surgery and Surgical Emergency Assessment Unit. 

Mr Shrestha has also been appointed as Clinical teacher at Kent and Medway Medical College, Educational Supervisor for Kings College London medical students and St George’s University, London.

Mr Shrestha enjoys teaching undergraduates, surgical trainees and has been faculty for numerous courses. He has been awarded several trust awards for his education role and has delivered several presentations in national and international surgical meetings as well as having more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Lastly, Mr Shrestha has been successfully organising a William Harvey Surgical Evening, a regional/national meeting for general surgeons for last 5 years.

Mr Shrestha is a keen badminton player. He also likes to organise events and charity programmes.
