Frozen Shoulder

Our shoulder joints are made up of of a ball (humeral head) and socket (humerus). The surface of the ball and socket bones are covered with a layer of cartilage to enable smooth movement as the joints rub together. Flexible tissue called a capsule surrounds the joint and when this becomes inflamed movement can be restricted and you can feel pain. When this happens you have what is termed a ‘frozen shoulder’, and you will feel pain and stiffness in your shoulder and won’t be able to do everything you usually can.

Often people can suffer for weeks months or even years with a frozen shoulder and will often speak to a GP for advice.

You can contact us to see a specialist shoulder surgeon who can discuss your frozen shoulder diagnosis, scans and treatment options with you.

You can use your private medical insurance or pay for your Frozen Shoulder treatment. We offer competitive, fixed price packages as well as the ability to spread your cost with the option of 0% finance. If you are using your health insurance please do contact your insurer first for approval and let them know you’d like to be treated at either the One Ashford Hospital or One Hatfield Hospital.
