The International Association for the Study of Pain defines pain as

‘An unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with, or resembling that associated with, actual or potential tissue damage.’

But pain is very different for every individual and the measure of that pain is the impact it is having on daily life, either physically or emotionally.

Our pain management consultants specialise in working with patients to determine an individual treatment plan to manage pain and provide relief as quickly as possible.

Often, a thorough clinical examination and taking a full history can be enough to build a comprehensive picture and will determine the root cause of the pain. If further investigation is required we can provide fast access to a range of diagnostic scans.

Once the cause of pain has been established your consultant will advise a treatment plan and explain in detail the suitable interventions available.
