Facet Joint Injection
A facet joint injection is used to alleviate the symptoms associated with facet syndrome, commonly known as facet joint disease, facet osteoarthritis, facet hypertrophy, or facet arthritis. Facet syndrome occurs when the joints in your spine degenerate to the point at which they cause pain.
Facet syndrome is a common ailment because as you get older it is normal for gradual wear and tear to develop on your joints (osteoarthritis). If this happens in your facet joints the pain can be intense. A facet joint injection is a diagnostic tool that will show your doctor whether the pain you are experiencing is caused by your facet joints.
Private facet joint injection is usually performed in under 30 minutes. Your doctor will apply local anaesthetic before performing the injection, minimising any pain involved in the procedure. Your doctor may also use an X-ray or ultrasound scanner to help guide the needle they are using for the injection.
At One Healthcare we can book you in to see a specialist Orthopaedic surgeon, usually within 48 hours, for an initial consultation. Private Facet joint injection is available at the One Hatfield Hospital in Hertfordshire and the One Ashford Hospital in Kent.
You can use your private medical insurance or pay for your Facet Joint Injection treatment. We offer competitive, fixed price packages as well as the ability to spread your cost with the option of 0% finance. If you are using your health insurance please do contact your insurer first for approval and let them know you’d like to be treated at One Ashford Hospital
