Arthroscopy procedures are commonly known as ‘keyhole surgery’. An ankle arthroscopy procedure is a surgical operation that allows your doctor to see inside your ankle using a camera that is inserted through a tiny cut on your skin. The procedure is designed to aid your doctor in diagnosing damage to the ankle, for example, damage to the ligaments and joints or arthritis.
Ankle problems are usually identified with the use of an MRI scan; however an arthroscopy may be required to treat the problems.
The operation will take roughly 30 to 35 minutes and various anaesthetic options are available. If you have torn your ankle ligaments a reconstructive operation may be required.
At One Healthcare we can book you in to see a specialist Orthopaedic surgeon, usually within 48 hours, for an initial consultation. Ankle arthroscopy procedures are available at the One Hatfield Hospital in Hertfordshire and the One Ashford Hospital in Kent.
You can use your private medical insurance or pay for your Ankle Arthroscopy treatment. We offer competitive, fixed price packages as well as the ability to spread your cost with the option of 0% finance. If you are using your health insurance please do contact your insurer first for approval and let them know you’d like to be treated at either the One Ashford Hospital or One Hatfield Hospital.
