New Paediatric Service at One Ashford Hospital

One Ashford Hospital, Kent’s newest private hospital, is delighted to be able to deliver private healthcare for children.

Healthcare cuts, mergers and closures sadly mean hospitals offering paediatric (children’s) services are in decline, with some children and families having to travel long distances for treatment and surgery.

As it celebrates one year, One Ashford Hospital, though in its infancy, has succeeded in launching and delivering exceptional private paediatric care closer to home, with some of the area’s leading experts.

The new Paediatric Service at One Ashford Hospital focuses on the development of children, and the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of childhood conditions and illnesses.

The Hospital has Consultant Paediatricians, specialist nurses and support staff who hold regular outpatient clinics specialising in: allergies, asthma, breastfeeding-related problems, cardiology, constipation, dermatology, growth and developmental problems, general wellbeing and neonates (new-borns). They also have a number of Consultant Surgeons that specialise in ENT, ophthalmology, urology, general surgery, gastroenterology and orthopaedics, who see and treat children for surgery.

Paediatric Lead Nurse Femi Omowo says: “From the moment your child is admitted, they receive five-star treatment. They are given their own private room, with large TV and wifi, so you all get the privacy and rest you need”.

Today sees the launch of the Paediatric outpatient’s department, with its inviting brightly coloured play area. Day surgery for 3-18 year olds will be available from April.
