New national gold-standard MRI service

One Ashford Hospital is excited to be launching the new national gold-standard MRI service for patients needing heart scans.

Cardiac MRIs help cardiologists with the diagnosis and planning of treatment and One Ashford’s high-end scanner will provide safe (non-invasive, using no ionising radiation), painless and accurate diagnostic imaging of your heart, and will also reduce the need for other tests.

This state-of-the-art cardiac imaging will be available at One Ashford from May, and the Hospital is delighted to be offering these scans in its specially designed imaging suite, with a specialist cardiologist present for added reassurance. Having an excellent fast-track service closer to home will give you the diagnosis you need without the travel and without the wait.

There will also be a dedicated cardiac MRI scanning day, every Wednesday, with leading consultant cardiologist Dr Steven White, for 4-6 patients.

Ruth Moore, Director of Governance and Support Services, who set up the Imaging Department at One Ashford Hospital, says: “We are committed to providing the best possible care and service. The highly experienced radiographers and Imaging Department will make the experience the best it can be for patients, to ensure a successful diagnostic examination”.

One Ashford Hospital also offer routine scanning services for head, back, joints and limbs for adults and children.
