New weight loss comes to One Ashford

People suffering from being overweight or obese will soon benefit from new weight loss (bariatric) surgery at One Ashford Hospital.

In the next few weeks, leading bariatric Consultant Surgeon Mr Sanjoy Basu will begin performing gastric band surgery. The procedure involves placing an adjustable band around the top of your stomach, reducing the amount of food it can hold, meaning you eat less and feel full more quickly, in turn helping you to lose weight.

One Ashford provides outstanding consultant-led care at all times, supported by a friendly and experienced team of bariatric nurses, psychologists and dieticians. The gastric band helps you to keep the weight off, when combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

One Ashford’s Bariatrics department is supported by Streamline Surgical, the practice of TV Fat Doctor and bariatric surgeon Mr Shaw Somers, who battles to help morbidly obese people lose weight.
