Dr Soumit Singhai

Dr Singhai is a Consultant Geriatrician and Physician with over 20 years experience of working in the NHS. His NHS base is the Lister Hospital in Hertfordshire.

Dr Singhai undertook his undergraduate training at Kings College, London, qualifying in 1995. He completed his postgraduate higher specialist training in North London which provided excellent training and he has dual accreditation in General Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in 2016 which is recognition of excellence and innovation in the field of medicine. He is also a Royal College Examiner and sits regularly on Consultant Interview Panels as the Royal College Representative.

His main areas of specialist interest and expertise are in the cognitive and neuropsychiatric problems related to dementia and also Parkinson’s and movement disorders. He runs a specialist Memory Clinic. His work in the area of Parkinson’s disease has been recognised as an example of best practice by Parkinson’s UK.

Dr Singhai’s approach to care is person centred and holistic with treating “what matters to the person” to address their needs and goals and improve quality of life with the latest best evidence based treatments. He is available for home visits if needed in the areas of Hertfordshire, Essex and North London. He can organise private transfers from NHS hospitals and admissions from home for medical care at One Hatfield Hospital.

Dr Singhai lives locally in Hertfordshire with his family. Outside of work his interests are reading, hiking and travelling.
