Rheumatology: Gout – Are we taking this seriously?

20th January 2021 Virtual

Dr. Philip Bull will be talking on the subject of Gout which is one of his specialist interest areas.

Gout is the commonest form of inflammatory arthropathy, however in the UK it is often undertreated and compliance with long-term medication is poor.

This session will be based around the latest British Society for Rheumatology Guidelines and covers differential diagnosis, when to start urate lowering therapy, understanding the importance of associated conditions, particularly hypertension, hypercholesterolaemia and the association with the metabolic syndrome.

The importance of early treatment and how to be confident about diagnosis will be covered in detail.

We encourage you to engage in debate with Dr Bull and your peers, and you are invited to bring your own case studies for discussion.

The event will be held virtually, from 7:00pm – 8:00pm on Wednesday 20th January, and you will be sent a link to join via Zoom before the event.  Please be aware that bookings will close at 1pm on the 19th January.
