Bowel habits vary from person to person and varying symptoms are often witnessed in primary care. Sudden changes are often harmless, but they can indicate an underlying health condition, such as irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease.
One Ashford Hospital is holding a practical learning seminar on Saturday 12th October 19 on the Management of Bowel Symptoms. Consultant General Surgeon, Mr Pradeep Basnyat will be covering the following topics:
- Medical history of changes in bowel habits, including frequency and consistency of stools
- Performing clinical examinations
- Investigations to rule out certain diagnoses
- When to refer to secondary care
We encourage you to engage in debate with Mr Basnyat and your peers throughout the morning, and you are invited to bring along your own case studies for discussion.
ACCREDITATION: 3 CPD POINTS
In addition to the seminar, Patricia Harding, Senior Coroner will be holding a talk on
the investigation of deaths and serious incidents in primary care
Please arrive by 9:00am for registration and breakfast in order for the event to start promptly at 9:30am.
There will be an optional tour of the hospital and networking opportunities at the end of the seminar.
