Mr Matthew Oliver

Professional Profile

Mr Oliver is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in disorders of the adult hip, knee and hand. Mr Oliver studied medicine at St George’s Hospital Medical School in London, qualifying in 1998. Mr Oliver successfully completed Higher Surgical Training in the generality of Orthopaedics and Trauma on the renowned South East Thames Training Rotation.

In 2009, Mr Oliver spent a year at the University of Calgary in Canada on an intensive Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship. Upon returning to the UK in July 2010 he has been employed as a full-time consultant for the East Kent Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Oliver has strong interests in medical education and research, contributing regularly to leading journals and international scientific meetings.

His clinical interests include patient specific knee replacements, enhanced recovery protocols and Dupuytren’s Contracture of the hand. He practices evidence based medicine and the welfare of his patient is always paramount.
