Professional Profile

Dr Brown qualified from Royal Free and University College Medical School, University of London in 2000, where she was also awarded a BSc in Clinical Immunology and Cell Pathology. Prior to qualification she undertook her medical school elective in Paediatric Trauma at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa. It was here that she developed a passion for paediatrics and an understanding of how our childhoods shape all of us as adults – psychologically and physically.

Back in the UK she undertook training posts in London in medicine and surgery before completing a training programme in general paediatrics and neonatology. A post at the Royal Brompton Hospital proved to be a turning point, and where she commenced subspeciality training in paediatric respiratory medicine. This programme included further posts at the Royal Brompton Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Royal London Hospital, and a 2 -year research degree at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. She joined the Royal London Hospital as a consultant in paediatric respiratory medicine in 2015 where she is also clinical lead for the service.
