Dr Christopher John Fox
Dr Christopher John Fox welcomes referrals for all gastro-oesophageal (stomach and gullet), bowel and liver complaints including assessment and treatment of: heartburn, abdominal pain, bowel dysfunction and abnormal liver function. He also has an interest in nutrition.
Dr Fox qualified in Medicine from Cambridge University and the Westminster Medical School in 1985. He undertook basic medical training in Newcastle and Bath passing Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1989. His specialist training in General Medicine and Gastroenterology was in Western Australia, then on the London and South Eastern rotation including placements in Brighton, King’s Liver Unit and St Thomas’ Hospital. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College Physicians in 1995 and completed UK Specialist training in 1999.
He has been a Consultant at East Kent Healthcare NHS Trust (William Harvey Hospital and Buckland ) since 2002. In this time he has held managerial positions including Lead for General Medicine, developing the new Endoscopy Unit at William Harvey Hospital and has set up the Kent/ King’s Liver Unit Hepatitis C Network.
Dr Fox has extensive experience and is fully accredited in Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (for bile duct stones and drainage). He also performs therapeutic endoscopy including stenting and endoscopic mucosal resection for polyps.
Dr Fox has a Diploma in Nutritional Medicine from Surrey University (2012).
Dr Christopher John Fox is married with two children and lives in Hythe. He enjoys living and working in Kent, playing cricket and supporting the England Cricket Team.
